The simple salsa is the basic dip and perfect side dish for a party or for a movie night at home with some nachos, crisps, chips or the healthy option – veggies.
After trial and error with fresh tomato salsa recipes and cooked ones, we eventually got bored of trying a lot of complex recipes for this simple side dish and this was by far the tastiest one we have found so far.
All the ingredients are cheap and accessible to all of us no matter where you are in the world.
5 minutes preparation time.

Ingredients for simple salsa:
- 1 can of chopped tomatoes
- ½ red onion (peeled and chopped)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Half a red chili with no seeds
- A handful of fresh herbs (we prefer basil or coriander)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Method:
- Add all ingredients into a blender and blitz for 5 seconds until consistent.
It is really that easy. We like to serve it on top of enchiladas, fajitas or a side dish to go with your nachos.
