In order to do so we do not have to fiddle with the menu – just go to the nearby bazaar and stock up on some fresh delicacies. Our top recommendation for a quick on the go meal is always a sort of a smoothie or milkshake. Therefore we present you today with this delicious blueberry and banana milkshake.
But before we go into the recipe lets look at what to use and why it will help you figure.
Which fruit to reach for?
If you want to enjoy the slim figure and wasp waist, choose berries: wild strawberries, blueberries, blueberries, blackberries or raspberries.
Another reason why you should reach for a blueberry milkshake in times of weakness is the high fibre content. Fibre supports the work of the intestines and makes our metabolism work like clockwork. It means one thing – a flat stomach! If you add a whole range of vitamins and minerals, eating blueberries, you give yourself a natural, slimming and super-healthy meal.
What spices to use?
Research suggests that spices such as cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg may help boost satiety and mimic sweetness; as a result, they can help you cut back on sugar. Additionally, the spices can also:
- Stimulate the circulation, so the body is more efficient at clearing toxins and fats out of the bloodstream
- Stimulate the process of peristalsis in the colon to remove excess waste that may be impairing its function
- Cleanse the digestive system of microorganisms and, fungi and parasites that may be creating a toxic environment in the gut that is sabotaging weight loss
Eating cinnamon has also been linked to better blood sugar regulation, improved heart health, and brain function.
Although you probably know ginger is best as a stomach soother, it may also help you feel fuller and even burn more calories.
Enough of the knowledge intro lets get into making this amazing blueberry milkshake.
Ingredients for blueberry and banana milkshake:
- 1 cup of blueberries
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup of milk or buttercream or kephir (or any plant-based milk)
- a handful of mint leaves
- 1/4 tsp of grounded cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp of grounded ginger
- 2 tbsp of peanut butter (optional)
- honey (optional)
- some fruit to garnish (optional)
Method:
- In a blender place the blueberries, banana, mint leaves and milk or buttercream of kephir (your choice!). Blend it for few seconds on high until nice and smooth.
- If you want to add the peanut butter – we really recommend it especially if you made it yourself. The peanut butter gives this blueberry milkshake that extra edge. Blend it for a few seconds.
- Try the shake to determine if it is sweet enough if not add some honey or another type of sweetener.
