Something sweet, fruity and quick to make… there is nothing better than puff pastry dumplings with blueberries. They are so delicious and that brown sugar on top gives this dish that extra sweet crunch.
We don’t know about you, but we always have a sheet of some puff pastry ready in the fridge. It is a great way to make a quick snack for yourself sweet or savoury. It is also useful if some unexpected guests arrive at your door.
So let’s get to work and prepare together this awesome and quick snack!
Ingredients for PUFF PASTRY DUMPLINGS WITH BLUEBERRIES:
- 2 sheets of puff pastry
- Blueberry jam
- handfull of Blueberries
- 1-2 eggs
- Brown sugar (optional)
Method:
- Heat up the oven to 180 degrees C.
- Cut out round shapes from puff pastry sheets. To do so you can use cookie cutters, dumpling cutters or simply a glass or a cup. Remember that the diameter of the circle should be more than 4cm so we have enough space to put it the filling.
- In the middle of each circle put half of teaspoon of jam and 2 or 3 blueberries.
- Whisk the egg and paint the edges using a cooking brush with the mixture so the dumpling will be more secure when you fold them.
- Then fold them in half. Just be mindful that the puff pastry is not as strong as regular dumpling pastry so don’t pull on it too hard. See the video below on tips how you can do so 🙂
- Line the baking tray with baking paper and put all your dumplings making sure there is enough of breathing space between them.
- Sprinkle some brown sugar on top for that extra crunch of sweetness. This step is totally optional!
- Bake them for about 10-15 minute or until golden. Enjoy!
