Spaghetti bolognese is an Italian classic. It is perfect for the times you crave something simple and timeless. It will wake your taste buds at the same time not requiring a lot of your effort.

So sit back and enjoy this dish as much as we do.

Serves 4  Takes 2 hours including making the red sauce from scratch from our Easy Italian Red sauce recipe.

Ingredients for spaghetti bolognese:

  • 500g minced meat (you can use any but we decided for pork)
  • No stress Italian Sauce
  • 500g of spaghetti pasta
  • 2 tbs of oil
  • 2 tbs of olive oil (you can use a flavoured oil for an extra kick)
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • 160g of grated cheese (the best is parmesan but you can use any – mozzarella, cheddar etc.)
  • Fresh basil for decoration (optional)

Method:

  1. Make the No stress Italian Sauce.
  2. Using 2 tbs of oil fry the minced meat on medium heat. When all cooked add the Sauce.
  3. In a tall pot boil water with olive oil and salt. Put in the spaghetti pasta (do not crack it) within 2 minutes pasta should be all under water (if not give it a little push :P).
  4. When all past will be underwater swirl the water making sure no pasta is stuck to the bottom of the pot (repeat it a few times). Cook according to instructions on the packaging (al dente is the way to go!)
  5. Sift out the pasta. Put a portion on a plate sprinkle it with cheese (about 20g). On top put the sauce and sprinkle it with some more cheese (about 20g).
  6. Decorate it with some fresh basil leaves and voilà!
